flowers
It’s been a really nice summer here this year – lots of sunshine and heat (although I’m not sure I like the really hot days as much as I used to). The forecast is for a warm September so I hopefully I can make my flowers last a little longer, although the heat and wind…

“Yeah we all shine on, like the moon, and the stars, and the sun.”
“Yeah we all shine on, like the moon, and the stars, and the sun.” John Lennon I love watching the phases of the moon and I think it’s so awesome that I’m able to get so close with my new camera (Nikon p510) Earlier in the week, I was able to get some good shots…

A couple pics from this weekend – I’ve been trying to take pictures of the cobweb and the geraniums for awhile and finally got the shots I wanted.

dahlias three ways
Did you know that dahlias are the national flower of Mexico? I don’t remember seeing any dahlias in Puerto Vallarta in March, but then again I don’t think I took any flower pictures there. It was more about eating good food, sticking my toes in the sand and taking sunset pictures. Summer is still in…

a beautiful summer weekend
The weather was perfect this weekend. It was cooler at the beginning of the week and I wore long pants to work and even uttered the word fall a few times, but thank goodness summer has returned. These are a few pics from this weekend – a good portion of which was spent outside –…

Queen Elizabeth II Gardens
The Queen Elizabeth II Gardens in front of the Legislative Building in Regina re-opened on the weekend after a $1 million renovation. I love the Leg. – I think it’s a beautiful building (although I certainly don’t love the governing party that is inhabiting it right now!).

Lunch Break Post
Just a quick post while on my lunch break. Daisies are my all-time favourite flowers. I’m pretty certain I’ve never quoted Drew Barrymore before, but she likes daisies too and said, “daisies are like sunshine to the ground.” Now I’m off to spend the rest of my lunch break outside. Hope it’s equally as nice…

gorgeous weekend
Finally, a beautiful weekend! The weather was just right – 25 and sunny. The dahlias are still my favourite this year. The tiger lilies are blooming. I’m not really a beer drinker, but this is a light, crisp beer that is refreshing in the middle of a bright summer day. My favourite Malbec. About $13…

playing
This is my week of work where I only have one day off. I’m anticipating an interesting week, so I wanted to get all the usual errands done, but also have some down time. I ended up taking a bunch of pictures around my place this afternoon with my iPhone and then went for a…

Digging in the Dirt – Part 3 (the final edition since I’m done planting now!)
Project planting flowers 2012 is now complete. My back is sore and my wrist is sore from digging in the dirt, but a glass of wine will soon soothe the aches and pains. Most of the flowers I planted today (more pansies and petunias, impatiens and daisies) are not photo-ready, so these are pictures from…

Digging In the Dirt Part 2
“In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.” Margaret Atwood Didn’t get any dirt under my fingernails today since it rained here most of the day, so I took a couple pictures instead. This doesn’t quite go with the rest of the post, but rookie camp for the Saskatchewan…
