  • This week’s view

View from the campsite at Jasper National Park… home for the next week…

  • go!

“It’s opener, out there, in the wide, open air.” ― Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You’ll Go! Whether by plane.. or by train… Maybe by boat… But very likely by car… Whatever direction you choose… Just go somewhere this summer! (All this to say I’m looking forward to camping in Jasper very soon!)

  • look at that face

An animal’s eyes have the power to speak a great language. – Martin Buber I’m not a vegetarian. I like crispy bacon and juicy steaks and bison burgers and chicken fajitas, and I’m not opposed to people who hunt in order to have meat in their freezer, but I am strongly opposed to hunting for…

  • beauty of open space

The question is not what you look at, but what you see. – Thoreau I don’t understand people who don’t see the beauty of the prairies! So, if you’re not from here, and you happen to be driving through Saskatchewan on your summer vacation, veer off the TransCanada Highway for a bit on a grid…

  • bleeding heart

Today’s find – these pretty bleeding heart.  I’m always happy to come across something I’ve never photographed before (I found these in a nice spring flower garden on the east side of the Legislative Building this afternoon).

  • conserve water

This may not be a common sight in Regina for the next little while since we’re being asked to conserve water because of a water quality issue. The first call to conserve water went out on Monday (I took this pic on Sunday!) and apparently there’s been no significant reduction in the amount of water…

  • cherry blossoms on a beautiful May weekend

That is one good thing about this world…there are always sure to be more springs -L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Avonlea I love summer, but spring is my favourite time of the year…specifically, late spring when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom…

  • Pelican in Profile

Sometimes you take your camera with and just hope you find something interesting to photograph…and today didn’t disappoint…

  • Miss Abilene

This is Abilene, my niece’s dog…she’s as sweet as pie…although I’m not sure she enjoyed her photo shoot (which consisted of me following her around the living room).

  • I love a sunny day

Like this one, last Sunday…here’s to many more this summer…

  • red barn with clouds

Just happy that Spring is here and there are colourful scenes to photograph… like this one, this afternoon… …

  • Friday Book Recommendation

This is one of my favorite book covers ever!!!    … And the book is pretty good, too! If you were weird and awkward growing up (and maybe still consider yourself weird and awkward!), you’ll enjoy this book!  Now if only my lunch break wasn’t over, I’d continue reading in the sunshine….enjoy your weekend!
