Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays
I intended to post more holiday themed pictures this past week, but a bad cold and Christmas preparations meant I didn’t take many pictures. I’ll be back to more regular posts in the New Year, but I just wanted to say thank you for visiting my site!

a few of my favourite things
It’s been cold here lately so my plan to go out and about in the evening to take pictures of Christmas light displays has been sidelined. It’s supposed to be nice on the weekend so hopefully I can take some pictures of the lights at the Legislative Building, in particular. In the meantime, I’ve been…

beam me up
I was walking through Victoria Park on my supper break the other day and happened upon this scene. These were taken with my iPhone and I planned to to take my Nikon to work the next day since my supper break was at the same time and try to capture some better images. It was…

chocolate peanut butter fudge
My chocolate peanut butter fudge picture is not Martha Stewart worthy, but it tastes pretty good. I’m a Type 1 diabetic, and when I started looking for fudge recipes I was horrified by the amount of sugar that was in some of them. I’ve made “diabetic” fudge in the past with Splenda, and it was…

through the clouds
I’ve been on some pretty cool drives in North America – Maui’s Road to Hana, the Beartooth Highway outside Yellowstone, and Port Alberni to Tofino on Vancouver Island. They all are amazing in their own way and the drive between Banff and Lake Louise is no exception. Banff will always be one of my favourite…

Los Muertos Beach
It’s snowing here….again. We’ve had more snow this month than we had all last winter. I don’t mind the snow, I think it’s quite pretty, in fact. A few months from now, though, I’ll be ready for a winter escape. This is a pic from a trip to Puerto Vallarta in March. I liked Puerto…

grey morning
It’s a grey morning here today… it matches the sky in these pictures from my trip to Banff at the end of October. These were taken on the drive from Kananaskis to Banff which is really scenic (even on a dull, grey, snowy morning).

Mount Edith Cavell con’t
Here is one more Mount Edith Cavell pic. It’s definitely a must do in my opinion if you’re visiting Jasper.

Mount Edith Cavell
This is a picture of the drive up to Mount Edith Cavell in Jasper National Park in July. While going through my photo library, I realized there are quite a few pics from that trip I haven’t posted yet (so I expect I’ll post more, along with some more current wintery Saskatchewan scenes in the…

looking out my window
Saw this little guy hanging out on the tree outside my living room window…this was before we got a foot of snow on the weekend!

prairie meets the sky
I love the mountains, but the prairies are beautiful, too. A lot of people passing through the province on the TransCanada Highway think there is nothing to see, but how can you not love the wide open spaces, fields upon fields, and endless skies?
