  • Banff Springs

I didn’t do too much planning for the trip to Banff so there were only  two things on my must do list – go to Lake Louise and actually go into the Banff Springs Hotel and wander around instead of just admiring it from the outside.  I did take some pictures inside, but I wasn’t…

  • hi there!

Back from my vacation and have one more day off to do laundry, groceries…all the usual post vacation tasks.  I just started going through my pictures and wanted to share this one…this little guy popped his head up, just waiting to get his picture taken on the way from Kananaskis to Banff.

  • Lake Louise

Lake Louise is one of the most photographed lakes in the world. It is a spectacular setting and even if you’re not staying at the Chateau Lake Louise, you can have a drink in the Lounge with this as your view. (This was taken with my iPhone.)

  • Bow River

This is the Bow River at Bow Falls. I have pictures of the Falls on my camera, this one was taken with my iPhone. I never get tired of Banff. This is a good time to visit – its not overrun with tourists and the recent snow just makes the scenery that much prettier.

  • to the mountains

Three more sleeps until vacation time!  I can’t wait.  I didn’t take as much time off this summer as I normally would for a variety of reasons and I’m ready for a change of scenery.  I have my books picked out, I have some new music and made some new playlists (I’m big on playlists)…

  • Mount Robson

New windows were installed in my place today so last night was spent taking down curtains and blinds and moving things out of the way.  I really should be putting everything back in place tonight but I’m feeling a bit lazy, so I re-hung my bedroom curtains, put a few things away, and the rest…

  • Neighbourhood Walk Part 2

All of these sights are in my neighbourhood.  I’ve lived in Regina for a long time now, and I’ve never really thought of it as a pretty city. (I think I may have said this in a post a few months ago, too!)   I appreciate many of the things the city has to offer,…

  • Elk Island

Earlier this summer I posted sunset pictures from Elk Island National Park in Alberta, near Edmonton. We stopped there for the night on our way to Jasper. The pictures I took there are some of my favourite I’ve ever taken – just being in the right place at the right time. Here’s one more from…

  • Athabasca Falls

I haven’t posted any pics from my camping trip with my parents to Jasper in July lately so here are a few from Athabasca Falls. The falls were quite close to the campground we were staying at so it was our first touristy stop.  It was a rainy day and raining the evening before when…

    walking in the woods

“I have always found thick woods a little intimidating, for they are so secret and enclosed.  You may seem alone but you are not, for there are always eyes watching you.  All the wildlife of the woods, the insects, birds, and animals, are well aware of your presence no matter how softly you may tread,…

  • World’s Largest Easter Egg

What’s a road trip without a stop at a roadside attraction?  The World’s Largest Ukrainian Easter Egg is located in Vegreville, Alberta – we passed it along the way to Elk Island National Park and we thought it deserved a look.  I particularly liked the stained glass artwork.
