  • Maui Morning

It’s still cold here.  I’ve gone out and about taking pictures in the cold a few times, but I’m not really inspired at the moment.  So, I’m back to looking through my photo library and at this time of year, my pics from Maui are the ones that stand out.  These are all from Kaanapali…

  • escape

I’m trying not to dwell on it, but this is going to be a long winter…and because the plan is to do a big trip later in the year (I have a milestone birthday this year and want to do something memorable), there is probably no winter escape in my future this year.  So, I…

  • through the clouds

I’ve been on some pretty cool drives in North America – Maui’s Road to Hana, the Beartooth Highway outside Yellowstone, and Port Alberni to Tofino on Vancouver Island. They all are amazing in their own way and the drive between Banff and Lake Louise is no exception.  Banff will always be one of my favourite…

  • Los Muertos Beach

It’s snowing here….again. We’ve had more snow this month than we had all last winter.  I don’t mind the snow, I think it’s quite pretty, in fact. A few months from now, though, I’ll be ready for a winter escape.  This is a pic from a trip to Puerto Vallarta in March.  I liked Puerto…

  • grey morning

It’s a grey morning here today… it matches the sky in these pictures from my trip to Banff at the end of October. These were taken on the drive from Kananaskis to Banff which is really scenic (even on a dull, grey, snowy morning).

  • Mount Edith Cavell con’t

Here is one more Mount Edith Cavell pic.  It’s definitely a must do in my opinion if you’re visiting Jasper.

  • Mount Edith Cavell

This is a picture of the drive up to Mount Edith Cavell in Jasper National Park in July.  While going through my photo library, I realized there are quite a few pics from that trip I haven’t posted yet (so I expect I’ll post more, along with some more current wintery Saskatchewan scenes in the…

  • prairie meets the sky

I love the mountains, but the prairies are beautiful, too. A lot of people passing through the province on the TransCanada Highway think there is nothing to see, but how can you not love the wide open spaces, fields upon fields, and endless skies?

  • Safe Passage

There is an abundance of wildlife in Banff National Park and there is also a major highway (The TransCanada) running through the park connecting Banff and Lake Louise.  In order to to give the bears, wolves, elk, moose and all the other wildlife an opportunity to move safely throughout the park there are many underpasses…

  • Sulphur Mountain

Pretty drive up Sulphur Mountain to see if the Banff Upper Hot Springs were re-opened (they weren’t).  I really like the way the clouds and the trees look in this picture.  As a travel tip, there is a nice hotel called the Rimrock Resort Hotel across from the Hot Springs.  I got a really good…

  • Banff Springs Continued

I was actually pretty happy that it snowed in Banff, everything looked so pretty.
