It’s been four years since I posted on this blog. Between then and now, I’ve been building my coaching business, helping people navigate pivotal chapters in their life and career. I always knew I would return to posting here again as it’s an important part of my own story.
I just didn’t know when.
Collaborating with my clients to help them bring their best stories to life has inspired me to return to sharing my photography, my thoughts and quotes in a way that social media like Instagram and Facebook, as well as LinkedIn doesn’t always appreciate/reward. I’ll still show up there.
However, this is me sharing with no expectations.
I’m not clamoring for likes or trying to chase algorithms or followers or whatever the latest trend is and making sure every post has a call to action.
That’s not who I am or what matters to me.
A big part of my work is helping people live their values, own their strengths and move through the world with more ease and less angst to realize their dreams and ambitions for their life and career.
It’s important to me, then, to do the same in my own life.
Don’t get me wrong, I hope you get something from my posts. I hope you enjoy my photography, my writing and the quotes I will invariably share again. Also, please do consider subscribing so you don’t miss one.
However, the point of returning to blogging is that it fulfills my values of creativity, inner freedom, optimism and growth.
I started prairie girl wonders in May 2012, at what turned out to be the beginning of seven turbulent, chaotic years in my previous career. In many ways, having this outlet inspired me to get brave and change my career.
It made me follow my passions, made me take more pictures and made me write more. I could share my point of view in a way that felt authentic to me. I knew I was on to something that was leading me in the right direction, even though I didn’t know exactly what that was at the time.
Good things lead to good things.
Now, on solid ground in my not so new career, I feel like I have the time and energy to share my photography and writing in a way that feels completely natural to me.
It’s good to be home.

Always looking for the light…
