macaws at the Audubon Zoo

, , ,

New Orleans is such a great place because there is no shortage of things to do and see.

The Audubon Zoo was on the list mostly because I enjoy taking pictures of animals and I hoped to take some elephant pictures (I’ve daydreamed about going on safari for my next significant birthday – since the last significant one was celebrated by bear watching in the Great Bear Rainforest, but I’m not sure how serious I am about going to Africa).  The elephant exhibit was being re-tooled, so they were out of public view, but I had fun taking pictures of these two beautiful, colourful macaws because the light was just so nice.

  1. Such amazing looking birds!! Really great pictures, and I hope you get to see elephants eventually.. wherever it may be 🙂

    1. Thanks! It’s always good to have something to aim for, so an African safari might be in the cards someday! We’ll see!
