storm clouds on the prairies

Wednesday afternoon near Shaunavon, SK after crossing the border back into Canada after a quick road trip to Glacier National Park in Montana…

summer storm clouds on the prairies

There are many things to like about Montana, and I will include my thoughts and photos in a post in the near future, but this is actually my favourite picture from the trip. Funny how it’s in my own province, but if not for a road trip to Montana and deciding to take the US 2 route home (bypassing the terrifically boring Medicine Hat to Swift Current leg of the TransCanada Highway), and crossing the border at Climax, SK, we would have missed watching this summer storm on the prairies develop.  Isn’t it usually the coming home that’s the best part of any trip?
