“Open Your Eyes and Look!”

“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.” – Jawaharial Nehru

Photography is a wonderful hobby because you start looking at everything you see in a whole new way. It makes you become more aware of your surroundings, of how the right light can change a fairly mundane scene into something beautiful or dramatic, and it connects you to the world in a different way.  I’m a quiet person, more content to observe a scene rather than be in the scene, and photography is a great tool to share how I see the world.  I’ve developed a penchant for traveling, but all these pics were taken fairly close to home in the last few weeks.

And…as my mom would say when I was a kid and couldn’t find something I was looking for, “just open your eyes and look!”
