Grand Canyon of Yellowstone

, ,

In the summer of 2008, we went on a road trip through South Dakota to the Black Hills and then on to Yellowstone.  It was on this trip that I started to become more interested in photography and to put some thought into taking pictures rather than pointing the camera at something and just shooting. I would like to do this trip again at some point –  particularly to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the Grand Tetons and to Yellowstone. The road home leads to the Beartooth Highway which is a pretty spectacular drive, as well.
These are pictures of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.  I told the story in an earlier post, but it was here where a couple stopped me in the parking lot as we were walking back to our car and asked me how far it was to actually see the falls, when I replied it was a really short walk, the driver replied that it was too far!  Oh well, everyone experiences travel differently, I guess.
If you go to Yellowstone, try to stay a night or two at the Old Faithful Inn (you have to make reservations quite far in advance).  I would love to go back just to take better pictures of the interior, but it gives you an idea what it looks like.
