rooftops

I went out on my balcony this morning (it was only about -6 outside, so not too bad!) and got this shot.  I’m quite happy with the way it turned out and how the brick on the First Baptist Church (foreground) and Knox-Metropolitan United Church looks on a grey Sunday morning. That’s Regina’s City Hall in the background.

It made me think of the song “Up on the Roof” by the Drifters so I looked up the lyrics and really liked them, here’s an excerpt:

When I come home feelin’ tired and beat
I go up where the air is fresh and sweet (up on the roof)
I get away from the hustling crowd
And all that rat-race noise down in the street (up on the roof)
On the roof, the only place I know
Where you just have to wish to make it so
Let’s go up on the roof (up on the roof)

  1. Nice shot! I have never been there, but I want to check it out one of these days.
