anxiously awaiting the colours of spring and summer

The sky is a brilliant blue today, and it’s a balmy -28 degrees (-38 with the windchill) and these Blue Rodeo lyrics (song is “Get Through To You”) are going through my head:

Looks like winter’s never gonna leave this grey town
I think it’s going to snow all summer

Okay, I know winter will end at some point, but once again, it’s a Sunday that is too cold to go out and take pictures, so I’m thinking about the colours of spring and summer today. I went looking through my photo library for pictures with bright, brilliant colours…

Robin’s Egg Blue – Part 2

I posted a picture of two perfect robin’s eggs a few weeks ago taken in my parents’ backyard.  They were so perfect that I may have accused my mom of planting two plastic eggs there as a bit of a joke.  We went camping for a week and when we came back, there were three eggs!  I planned to take a picture the next morning of the three eggs and when I checked there were four!  It took me about twenty minutes to get a picture of the mother as I didn’t want to scare her off.  Two of the eggs have now hatched, but I’m not there to try to get  a picture and the ones my dad tried to take didn’t turn out.  It really is a gorgeous colour.
