Regina Floral Conservatory

It’s about -25 today so it’s a great day to share some pics from the Glimpse of the Tropics display at the Regina Floral Conservatory.  It’s one of the hidden gems in Regina, and on Sunday afternoon it was full of people escaping another cold January day.  I highly encourage a visit if you’re experiencing the winter blahs – you’re welcome to bring in a coffee, take off your coat, sit on a bench, and forget for awhile that you’re on the prairies in January!

Wascana Waterfowl Park

I hate to admit that even though I’ve lived in Regina for a long time I’ve never been to the Wascana Waterfowl Park – sure I’ve seen geese and ducks and pelicans around Wascana Lake, but the Waterfowl Park is a nice little area I’ve always known about, but just never checked it.  Next time bread is required though, as sometimes I wondered if I should get so close without having something to offer the geese and ducks!

I’ve never seen this kind of duck before…

I’d say this pelican never worries where its next meal is coming from…

“You do know that people usually bring bags full of bread crumbs, right?” I think my new friend was a little disappointed with me.
