Between 9am and midnight on Saturday, I spent a total of about an hour inside. That is a perfect summer day in my books. We are in the midst of a heatwave here (a thunderstorm with a good soaking rain would be most welcome). It’s the kind of heat that soaks into your bones, and forces you to move at a slower pace.
And find shade….
Or just bask in the sun for awhile..
In the evening, the Saskatchewan Roughriders played their second game in brand new Mosaic Stadium. Night games are my favourite (this pic is actually from last Saturday’s Canada Day game). A win, too!
Everyone left the stadium under a spectacular full moon. I was anxious to get home and try to get some pics. Since I’ve been so busy at work, I haven’t really picked up a camera as much as I’d like to. It was eerily quiet and peaceful at midnight considering it was a Saturday night and I wandered down the street trying to find a good vantage point. It’s been awhile since I had that feeling of it’s just me and my camera and the subject I’m trying to photograph.
It was a good day.

I was looking through my photo library and this was the pic that jumped out at me today considering we are a day or two away from a full moon….I took this on Boxing Day 2012 from my mom and dad’s bedroom window.
The weather didn’t co-operate last night, so a glimpse (and pics) of the Lunar Eclipse didn’t really work out (I got one very dim pic). Instead here are a couple of my favourite full moon pics I’ve taken….
These are a couple of shots I took of the moon on Friday night.
“Yeah we all shine on, like the moon, and the stars, and the sun.” John Lennon
I love watching the phases of the moon and I think it’s so awesome that I’m able to get so close with my new camera (Nikon p510) Earlier in the week, I was able to get some good shots of the moon from my balcony at about 11:30. I’m off today so I stayed up later to try to get a shot last night (I could’ve easily went down to the street and around the corner to get a picture earlier, but what fun would that be!). Anyway, at about 12:30 I still didn’t have a clear view so I leaned precariously over the railing and snapped a few pictures. While I was out there I thought I might as well trying taking some pictures of my flowers, so here are a few from that experiment.
