Paged through this on my coffee break and it looks to be a fun read full of travel tips and anecdotes. It’s supposed to be a cool, rainy weekend here so I’m looking forward to reading this while drinking a good cup of coffee.
Moving true story of an elderly man’s desire to get an education (and also teach others along the way). Watched it a few weeks ago and highly recommend it.
This is the feel good story of the day. I dare you not to smile when you scroll through the pictures!
This strawberry rhubarb fruit wine from Sleeping Giant Winery near Summerland, BC is great for a summer wine. For a bit of fizziness, add club soda. Yum.
Picture was taken at Ocean Village Resort just outside Tofino, BC. Accommodations are a bit rustic, but I would go back in a heartbeat. The resort is located at Mackenzie Beach, a few kilometres from Tofino. The big, expensive resorts like Wickaninnish Inn and Long Beach Lodge Resort are just down the road, but Ocean Village is a gem.
Tulips in Whistler, BC, June 2011.
This is one of my favourite times of the year. I always plant my flowers earlier than what is recommended for my area, but I just can’t wait to feel the soil between my fingers and the dirt under my fingernails. This year I decided not to pre-plan what flowers I would buy and instead went to the greenhouse and just bought what looked good. So this year, it’s petunias, fuschias, nicotianas, double impatiens, garden mums, sweet 100 tomatoes, and pineapple tomatoes.
Update: the forecast for today is rain AND snow! Guess I’ll be bringing those flowers inside.
Welcome to my blog. This is still a work in progress, but this is some of what I plan to share here:
*my photography
*books, music and movies (I work in a library and have access to a tremendous amount of material)
*travel tips and tidbits
*quotes, poems and other writing. If I get brave, some of it might even be my own!
This is my first blog, so I’m sure it will evolve as I go along and add content. Please provide your comments and feedback – I’m curious what you have to say and share!
